PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Responsible and accountable for the daily accounting activities and maintaining accurate corporate financial records for Hair Visions International. Provide appropriate financial information to department managers, which will assist them in managing their departments and maintain their budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 10 years accounting experience
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory or management experience

SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication, written and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, QuickBooks Pro, Credit Card Processing and SAP Business One
  • Aptitude for mathematics and analytical skillsAbility to Maintain Confidentiality
  • Provide excellent customer care

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hire, train, develop and supervise personnel in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Establish a positive, motivating and productive work environment.
  • Provide financial reports monthly and as requested by senior management and certified public accountant.
  • Accountable for collecting the maximum amount of overdue funds from customers, which may include a variety of collection techniques, legal claims, and the selective use of outside collection services.
  • Prepare the annual budget and sales forecast process to include monitoring of monthly departmental budgets.
  • Assist other department managers with any type of analysis.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis and provide findings to upper management.
  • Document collections processes for collections staff.
  • Hold regular collections meetings to monitor goals and progress and to elevate collections issues to upper management in a timely fashion.
  • Formalize and manage the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable Systems and the bank reconciliation for Hair Visions International.
  • Ensure that receivables are processed and posted in a timely manner.
  • Responsible to oversee and ensure that all payables stay current and within the guidelines of the terms agreed upon.
  • Complete all month end procedures in a timely manner.
  • Master the SAP Business One program, in order to detect, trouble shoot and correct problem areas that are accounting related.
  • Co-Manage the physical inventory on a weekly basis.
  • Establish monthly commission reports for approval.
  • Hold routine departmental meetings communicating with staff necessary information.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate cash management.
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
  • Execute bi-annual performance appraisals and offer constructive feedback to employees.
  • Provide team-building techniques (coach, monitor, develop action plan and counsel).
  • Develop and attain short and long term business objectives in accordance to company guidelines.
  • Communicate with all department managers any discrepancies exposed for review and necessary action.
  • Analyze existing and new product selling prices for acceptable margins.
  • Ensure vendor cost agrees with cost in system.
  • Provides support and acts as backup to the Director of Operations.
  • Monitor compliance to all company policies and procedures and support all company decisions.
  • Other duties required by management.
